Beginning of the year bulletin board

This is a very simple but fun bulletin board and of course it's 3D!! We are not quite finished, though! After the first day of school, we will add the students' pictures inside the bubbles!! We bought the two bubble wands at the Dollarmart and we ordered the plastic ornaments from Oriental Trading! I wish the ornaments were a little bigger, but I still love how it turned out!

Summer is over :( and :)

In less than nine hours, I will be heading back to school! Inservice starts tomorrow! I can't believe summer is over! It flew by but it goes by faster and faster as I get older and I just turned 40, so it's flying fast! I feel like my whole summer was spent changing classrooms and getting my new one ready! The good news is that I won't have to do near as much next summer! My room is about finished! A lot of my sports theme is the same, but I have changed a few things! I will start posting pictures in the next few days!  I hope everyone has a wonderful school year!!  I can't wait to meet my new students!!

Sports themed classroom almost complete!

I am getting closer and closer to finishing my room! I made a ton of progress today! I am going to post some pictures but obviously I still have some things to add and some things to clean!

Completed Basketball discipline system

My basketball discipline system is finally completely finished and hanging on the wall!! My room is slowly coming together! It looks so much better getting all my sports stuff back up on the wall!!

Sports theme bucket seats!

After seeing these on Pinterest, Mrs. Young (the other first grade teacher) and I knew we had to make them!! Of course I made Alabama ones to go with my sports theme! Mrs. Young is using lots of bright colors in her room this year so that's what she chose! They were relatively cheap to make! The buckets and lids cost about $4 at Lowe's. Then we went to Hobby Lobby for the material and the foam. We used about six cans of black spray paint for all eight buckets and lids, but we put several coats! Then it just took the man hours to paint and hot glue! We love how they turned out!!

Another summer project!

I worked on several projects tonight after spending about four hours working in my classroom today! I finally got some things on the wall which makes it seems more like my room! Tonight, I added magnets to my jerseys for my basketball discipline. I added different kinds of sports balls to my new number set that I made. And I made a first day frame which I have been wanting to do since I saw one on Pinterest! This is my daughter modeling it!!

Teachers pay teachers!!

I am excited to say that I now have some items for sale on teacherspayteachers.com!! I have been wanting to do something for a while but just haven't had the time. Right now I have two items. One is an attendance/lunch count activity for the smartboard (football theme) and the other is an I have, who has game for contractions! It's not much, but it's a start!!
