Making more progress!!!

I worked in my classroom last week but after working two and a half days this week, I feel like I have finally made a lot of progress!! I am going through everything so it is taking me a while, but I have made several different piles including a trash pile and a garage sale pile!! 17 years worth of stuff is a lot to go through!! This move has probably been a blessing in disguise because I am finally getting rid of things that I have had since my student teaching!! Yes there are still piles in the picture, but most of it will be moved to storage. Now I get to do the fun stuff and decorate with my sports theme!!

summer project for calendar and 100th day!

I bought a 100 piece puzzle (sports, of course) for our calendar time! Each day we will add a piece to count up to the 100th day of school! This is a very cute idea I found on Pinterest! I traced the pieces and numbered them! I am still trying to decide whether to add the pieces in order or randomly, to add to the fun of completing the puzzle.

Basketball discipline (second step)

I drew lines with a permanent marker and then used letter stickers for the words. I am going to make jerseys with numbers on them for the kids to move! I love how it is turning out!

First summer project for my sports theme!

I spray painted stove eye covers orange and then I will turn them into basketballs! I'm planning on making this into my new discipline system! I saw the idea on Pinterest, just tweaking it a little!

Making progress!

Everything is finally moved upstairs! Furniture is in place, at least for now! I will probably change my mind! And I actually started getting some things put away!! Here it is summer, and my mind is in full school mode!! I am spending way too much time on Pinterest!!

Overwhelmed!!

This is what my new room looks like after a couple days of moving! Unfortunately, I still have more stuff to move! Hopefully, it will all be done tomorrow and then I just have the fun task of unpacking and finding a place to put everything!! I have been very blessed to have some great high school kids helping (even if they are getting paid)!!

Changing rooms!

Let the fun begin! Today I start moving! I am still teaching first grade but I am moving upstairs! Unfortunately it is to a much smaller room! However, after 17 years of teaching, it is time for me to do some downsizing anyways! I am going to have to rethink how I have been doing my centers and groups since there won't be a lot of room to move around. Change is a good thing, right?
